Louise Vinge disputerade 1967 på avhandlingen The Narcissus Theme in Western European Literature up to the Early 19th Century och har publicerat en rad arbeten i allmän och svensk litteraturhistoria, bland dem The Five Senses (1975) och Morgonrodnadens stridsmän (1978).
