Shotoku Taishi
Shotoku Taishi [ço:toku tajçi] japanska Shōtoku-Taishi, ”prins Shotoku”, 574–622, regent i 30 år under kejsarinnan Suiko (554–628).
Prins Shotoku tillskrivs i krönikan Nihon shoki (720) rollen som reformator och ska under sin regeringstid ha centraliserat Japans statsmakt efter kinesisk modell.
