Rudolf Wittkower
Wittkower [wiʹtkouvə], Rudolf, 1901–71, brittisk konsthistoriker av tysk börd, verksam vid Warburginstitutet i London 1934–56, därefter professor vid Columbia University i New York.
Med Architectural Principles in the Age of Humanism (3:e upplagan 1962) och ”Gian Lorenzo Bernini” i ”The Sculpture of the Roman Baroque” (3:e upplagan 1981) gjorde Rudolf Wittkower grundläggande insatser som renässans- och barockforskare.
