Richard Hartshorne
Hartshorne [hɑʹrtshɔrn],Richard,
1899–1992, amerikansk geograf och idéhistoriker, professor vid University of Wisconsin.
I den inflytelserika boken The Nature of Geography: A Critical Survey of Current Thought in the Light of the Past (1940) gjorde H. den europeiska (framför allt tyska) metodologiska traditionen internationellt känd och grundade på den en mönsterbildande doktrin. I denna placerades en syntetiserande regionalgeografi i disciplinens centrum.
